Pedro Reyes

Pedro Reyes is part of the AFIELD network as one of its advisors.

Pedro Reyes (Mexico City, 1972) explores the power of individual and collective organisation to incite change through communication, creativity, happiness, and humor. He has won international attention for large-scale projects that address current social and political issues. Educated as an architect, he draws on this training to engage with utopian aspirations and the ongoing legacy of Modernism and constructs new forms of architecture necessary for new ways of life. Reyes’s awards includes a Ford Foundation Fellowship (2016). He has had major exhibitions at the Hammer Museum, (Los Angeles), ICA (Miami), The Power Plant (Toronto), Beijing Biennale, Queens Museum (NY), Carnegie International (Pittsburgh), among others. He has participated in the Liverpool Biennial, Gwangju Biennial, Documenta 13 (Kassel) and the Venice Biennale. Pedro Reyes lives and works in Mexico City, Mexico.
