Contingent Studies in Sensing Sound
A (mis)reader’s Guide to Listening, a performative work composed of several sensorial practices developed in the frame of Infinite Ear, was shared as a workshop during Cure Park in 2017. 1
Lendl Barcelos, Valentina Desideri and Myriam Lefkowitz collect historical and contemporary sensing practices that make it possible to extend our perception of sound and sense-making. The collection is a mixture of artistic, therapeutic, musical, conceptual and poetic practices, pre-existing and newly invented, including work and research made for the exhibition Infinite Ear (2016).
Gathered as scores and instructions, these practices are shared during Cure Park in a workshop by Lendl Barcelos and in a poster designed by Goda Budvytyte.
The four-hour workshop moves through the space of Cure Park in different configurations of communal and individual exercises so as to feel listening as therapy, listening as dreaming, listening as reading futures, and listening as music. 2
Infinite Ear: Contingent Studies in Sensing Sound is curated by Council.
